Week 1

Philippines & Jamaica Disaster Relief

Our Pure Religion series begins with an opportunity to make a global impact. This week we’re partnering with trusted ministry contacts in the Philippines and Jamaica to help provide disaster relief and recovery support following recent storms and flooding.

Your giving this week directly funds essential items such as food, clean water, medical supplies, and building materials for those who have lost so much. Even from here, we can extend the hands of the church to families across the world.

How to Get Involved:

  • Give: Select “Compassion” when giving online or in service. And use the notes to further designate your giving.
  • Pray: Join us in praying for safety, recovery, and encouragement for affected communities.
  • Share: Spread awareness by inviting others to join in giving or prayer.

Together, we can make a difference that reaches far beyond our walls and demonstrates the love of Christ in action.

Week 2

Food Pantry Volunteer Efforts

In Week 2 of Pure Religion, we’re turning our focus to needs right here at home. We’ll be partnering with local food pantries to serve families in our community facing food insecurity.

This effort begins with an informational meeting on November 2nd, followed by volunteer serving opportunities starting November 9th. Space will be limited, so we encourage you to sign up early.

How to Get Involved:

  • Volunteer: Contact Destiny Broadley (destinybroadley@yahoo.com) to sign up or learn more about serving shifts and locations.
  • Give: Can’t volunteer? You can still make an impact by giving to support food distribution efforts.
  • Invite: Encourage others to get involved — this is a great opportunity for small groups or families to serve together.

This week is about meeting physical needs and building relationships — showing our city what it looks like when faith takes action.

Week 3

Elderly, Widowed, & Homebound Outreach

Week 3 of Pure Religion focuses on reaching some of the most vulnerable members of our community — the elderly, widowed, homebound, and homeless.

This week’s efforts are centered around care, connection, and comfort — sharing God’s love through both giving and personal acts of service.

We’ll be assembling and delivering gift baskets for our elderly, widowed, and homebound members, filled with practical items and small tokens of encouragement. For our homeless neighbors, we’re collecting new hats, gloves, and socks to help provide warmth and care as the colder months arrive.

How to Get Involved:

  • Give: Contribute under the “Compassion” tab in the online giving portal to help fund outreach materials.
  • Donate:
    • For elderly, widowed, and homebound outreach: non-perishable treats, socks, hygiene items, or devotionals.
    • For homeless outreach: new hats, gloves, and socks only.
  • Serve: Help assemble baskets or assist in distributing donations during outreach days.

Your generosity this week brings dignity, warmth, and hope to those who need it most — showing what it truly means to put faith into action.

Week 4

Thanksgiving Bags & Community Outreach

Our final week of Pure Religion centers on blessing families in our community through “Thanksgiving Dinners.” Each in a bag that includes all the essentials for a Thanksgiving meal — items like stuffing, vegetables, potatoes, and dessert — along with a personal note of encouragement and prayer.

This outreach is an incredible opportunity to make a tangible impact during the holiday season.

How to Get Involved:

  • Give: Select “Compassion” when giving online or in service. And use the notes to further designate your giving.
  • Donate: Drop off non-perishable Thanksgiving items at the church.
  • Share: Help us reach families by spreading the word or inviting someone in need to our Thanksgiving Dinner event.
